Kid Creole and the Coconuts

Reporting from London

It's July 6th and I'm in London - glued to my tv set enjoying the British Grand Prix and the men's singles Wimbledon final. A belated happy 4th of July to all you Yankees. My gal and I just finished a week in Southampton (with the musical OH WHAT A NIGHT at the Mayflower Theatre) - a little bit of rain and a little bit of sunshine, just like today. If the summer doesn't show its face over here immediately, I shall be forced to sue ..... somebody!
My gal and I love the summer so naturally we feel a bit cheated when the summer isn't a summer. English summers can be very unladylike. Know what I mean?
I remember the first time KID CREOLE and the COCOS played Great Britain in the summer of 1982 - we all travelled in our lightweight summer clothes and straw hats and sandals only to encounter frost when we stepped off the plane!!!! We learned our lesson the hard way!!
Tomorrow we travel to beautiful Canterbury for another week of the musical (at the Marlowe Theatre).  Hope to see you there!
Love and happiness,
The Kid

yo August why don't you get off your fat lazy ass and trat all your fans in
PHILLY to a concert. What's up with ignoring the fans who supported you
from the very beginning or did you forget the Ripley on South Street
and the great Penn's Landing concerts on the 4th of July.
John and Elaine.
PS Elaine cry's all the time that she will never hear from you again

Hi August

Wow, this is cool! My wife and I used to dance to "I'll be a Fool for You" back in the mid 70s when we were both 15 in the frozen north of England. Shame that's not on the new album but "Sunshower" is (the 'B' side (?)). Your music was the backdrop to our courtship and early married life.... 25 years next year aggghh!

We've lived in France for 19 years now and at last we'll get to see you "live" on 8th August (just bought tickets online for your Sete gig). Hope to have the sun available for you on that day - it's an open air venue with the sea as a backdrop. We'll be there even if there's a Sunshower.

Break a leg every night until the 3rd and thank you for the music. There's nothing else like it..

All the best
Andrew and Debbie
(give us a shout out if you can remember!!!)
